The Peale will be closed Thursday, November 22 and will reopen Friday, Nov 23 from 4-8pm. We are also open Saturday Nov 24 from 12-8pm, and Sunday Nov 25 9am-5pm. Enjoy the weekend!

• The Peale’s Makers’ Market is open Sundays 9am-3pm.
• The pollinator garden with its vintage gas lights is open and free to visit whenever the historic building is open.
• Tours are also available by appointment outside of the above hours.

Three days of astonishing experiences between the digital and the real, between life and death!

Join the Smithsonian Latino Center at the Peale Center Nov 2-4, 2018 in a celebration of life and death. Walk the path of the spirits, participate in art installations by Latino artists, explore different Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos cultural practices, and learn about the legend of la Llorona, our highlighted mythological figure.

Subjects needed. Join in on procedures and extractions of metaphysical kurayami with a biomechatronic sculptor to examine the hypothesis that one can obtain enlightenment. (Actualized by Mika Nakano.)

From the creators of H.T. Darling’s Incredible Musaeum!, a new immersive experience from Submersive Productions. Participants are invited to unravel the mysteries of a centuries-old secret society and their uncanny methods for re-visioning new histories heretofore untold. Each experience runs 30-45 minutes for a group of about five people. For Episode One, we join Harriet Tubman at a crucial juncture to ask “How does one prevent catastrophe?”
