Mama Linda’s Chapbook: Songs and Poems from the Peale’s Storyteller-in-Residence

Mama Linda Goss, the Peale’s Storyteller-in-Residence since 2017, is a griot and performer in the African diasporic oral tradition. She is a co-founder of the National Association of Black Storytellers, which works to preserve folk traditions. In 2019, she was awarded a NEA Heritage Fellowship.

In these recordings, Mama Linda Goss shares stories, poetry, songs, and insights about everything from Earth Day to the untimely death of George Floyd to talking to youth about race and racism.

Part of the Peale’s story collection, which allows people of all ages and backgrounds to share their thoughts about Baltimore and the larger world.
